This module provides an overview of guidelines for the management of blood and body fluid spills in a healthcare environment. It is based on the 2010 National Health and Medical Research Council Australian Guidelines for the Prevention and Transmission of Infections in Healthcare.
The guidelines are current as at February 2019, however a revised edition was anticipated to be released November 2018 but to date still has not been released. This module will be updated again following the publication of the revised guidelines.
This module is aimed at all those working in health who may be exposed to blood and body fluid spills.
It outlines the current guidelines for the management of blood and body fluid spills as part of infection prevention and control in any health care facility.
Following the completion of this module, we recommend that all those working in health to re-read their own facility’s infection control guidelines for specific protocols.
The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
